The Dow Chemical Demolition Project comprised the demolition of buildings, tanks, pipes and pipe racks (Stage 1) and the demolition of the POD processing Area (Stage 2), which mainly contained tanks, towers, reactors, process vessels and superstructures.
Throughout the project, Ausdecom methodically planned strategies and applied expertise, including engineered collapses of units and use of cranes, to successfully complete the Scope.
Hazardous material removal was a significantly large campaign in both stages. 202.48 T of Hazardous material were removed, transported and disposed off site.
In continuous consultation with the Dow Chemical representatives, Ausdecom honored client requirements, and thoroughly reviewed the unique project risks, including but not limited to:
• Working adjacent to live infrastructure,
• Managing residual chemical and refractory material,
• Managing unexpected asbestos finds,
• Site Stakeholders and simultaneous operations
