The team headed southeast to Kalimna in Victoria to dismantle a redundant elevated water tank for our Client East Gippsland Water.
The 21-meter-high water tower was designed to hold 1 million litres of water and was dismantled before it could become a safety hazard to neighbouring properties. Nearby residents were relocated into temporary accommodation during the works.
Due to the tanks elevated position and seasonal high winds, the tower was safely dismantled utilising a mixture of manual oxy propane cutting techniques and demolition spec excavator with a variety of hydraulic attachments.
Almost 100 tonnes of steel was dissected and transported to our Laverton Recycling facility.
